Patient OutreachThe San Diego Muscle Research Center is primarily aimed at providing San Diego based muscle researchers with administrative, scientific and financial support. However, the SDMRC regularly teams up with patient organizations like CureDuchenne or Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) to educate patient families about latest developments in muscle research, and educate the next generation of scientists.World Duchenne Awareness DaySeptember 7 is World Duchenne Awareness Day. Several patient organizations concentrate their efforts to raise awareness and organize educational programs. Past SDMRC Patient Outreach Seminar - CureDuchenne CaresJune 5-6, 2015.Cure Duchenne in collaboration with SDMRC was hosting a series of free seminars and workshops in the beginning of June 2015 for therapists and patient families. The Duchenne Therapy Network (DTN) is dedicated to extending education to healthcare professionals and families of those with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
